The main Purpose of this research is the comparative study of "Public Intellectuals"(Henry Giroux) and "Liberal Ironist" (Richard Rorty) models of educating intellectual in higher education. The comparative study of these two model indicates that there are similarities: locality, critique in order to deconstruction, contingency and utopian viewpoint. The further studies indicate that Liberal Ironist theory because of false dualism between public-private spheres and also objectivity-solidarity, faces many internal incoherence includes acculturation- edification bipolar. Moreover this theory confines irony and critique to the private sphere and so tend to a kind of elitism. But Giroux unlike Rorty, via discussing the commitment to social transformation brings the intellectual to public and social life. The view point of Giroux also has many shortcomes: pessimist view on the instruction of traditional culture, ignoring the role of the emotional and spiritual education, and reduction of the education of intellectual to political education. It seems that we can propose a proper model for education of intellectual in higher education by revision of the "Public Intellectuals" theory and obligate it to the emotional and spiritual education.
